The First Week

Today I'll let the pictures do most of the talking. Overall, we're doing well. Nick & I are pretty tired, but we're "figuring it out." Thank you all for the deluge of love and support these past several weeks!

I don't remember if I already posted this or not, but we were finally licensed for foster care as of last Thursday, the day we brought the boys home.

We'll be doing foster care for about three months or so before the boys' Social Worker can begin the adoption paperwork/process. What that means in a practical sense is that while WE feel like they're our sons, legally they are still under the supervision/protection of the county, so there are more guidelines and restrictions in place for awhile (travel, babysitting, appointments & meeting requirements, etc).

We meet with a prospective daycare next week. It is located in the "bussing zone" for the preschool our 3-yr-old attends twice a week, which is key for us. Keep your fingers crossed!

  1. Hi Kassie! This was so much fun to read! My mom filled me in on the first details, so it is great to see how it has progressed. You have a lot of adjusting going on, and are doing such a great job (especially at keeping this blog updated amidst it all)! Praying for you all.
